Special camping offers

Take advantage of the special offers from a selection of campsites in Champagne-Ardenne recommended by Alan Rogers, the specialist camping tour operator.

To help you make the most of your holiday in the Champagne-Ardenne, a mini-website has been created which provides visitors with a whole host of information. Listings include great ideas (visits to towns and cities, Champagne houses and museums, activities etc), details on the main must-see tourist sights in the region, a photo gallery, practical information and major events. To view these offers, go to www.alanrogers.com/champagne-ardenne.
And if this long list of suggestions isn’t enough, you’ll find everything else you need on the Champagne-Ardenne Tourism website at www.champagne-ardenne-tourism.co.uk

Not to be missed:
- Animal Photography Festival in Montier-en-Der: three days devoted entirely to animals immortalised in movement, such as birds in full flight, the mating dance of penguins, and parents feeding their offspring. In addition, you’ll also have the opportunity to discover superb landscapes taken from a completely new angle as well as nature in great close-up. From 19 to 22 November. More info: www.alanrogers.com/champagne-ardenne

- Christmas markets: to mark the festive season the Champagne-Ardenne is decked out in all its Christmas finery. In towns as well as the smallest of villages Christmas markets spring up with the focus on local specialities. Make the most of this time of year to embark on a tour of the Christmas cribs on display in villages dotted around our vineyards, visit the house of Father Christmas in Sept Saulx, or the Christmas crib museum in Chaumont. From the end of November. More info: www.alanrogers.com/champagne-ardenne

- The splendours of the 16th century: during this period the Champagne region was an important centre for sculpture. The realism of draped folds, facial expression and polychrome work were the distinctive features of this artistic period. Until 25 October, ninety statues from some of the world’s greatest museums such as the Louvre and Metropolitan Museum of New York will be displayed in the St Jean-au-Marché church in the heart of the town of Troyes.
