Within the scope of the comprehensive planning of greater Paris, an exhibition will take place from 29 April to 22 November 2009 at the Centre for Architecture and Heritage. About 10 architectural and town planning firms have been appointed to bring this project to a successful conclusion and to propose their view of the future Parisian metropolis.
Over seven months, the museum of the Centre for Architecture and Heritage will show 10 films on the future of greater Paris. At the beginning of 2008, an international tender was launched for the planning of the Paris region, co-ordinated by the Ministry of Culture and Communications. Since June 2008, 10 teams of architects have been working on the tender projects on the topics: "the post-Kyoto 21st century metropolis" and "an analysis of the prospect for the Paris urban area".
The architect Jean-Christophe Quinton, the winner of the NAJA prize (2004 New Albums of Young Architecture), displayed the 10 contemporary modules through history. The public will therefore be invited to see the future face of Paris and its region in an amusing and educational way.
