Paris Photo, rendezvous for modern and contemporary photography will take place at the Carrousel du Louvre from 19 to 22 November.
Paris Photo brings together 101 exhibitors, comprising 88 galleries and 13 publishers. With 75% of participants coming from abroad, and 23 countries represented, the 2009 selection is notable for its geographical diversity.
An exciting exploration of the Arab and Iranian scene
In 2009, Paris Photo offers an exploration of photographic practices in the Orient.
The Beirut Fondation arabe pour l’image (Arab Image Foundation) will show a selection of rare photographs, while the Statement provides a glimpse of emerging creativity from Teheran to Damascus, Beirut to Cairo and Tangiers to Dubai. Finally, the Project Room is screening a programme of videos illustrating the growing interest on the part of artists from this region in the dynamic of this medium.
