Company description
General description :
WELCOME IN THE LOT,this land whose light, colours, warmth and accent have the flavour of the south is the ancient province of Quercy, nowadays the department of the Lot.
Secretive, it conceals subterranean fairy-tale palaces where light and shade play hide and seek amongst lacy rock crystal formation, or yawinig chasms leading down to the depths of the earth as at Padirac.
Modest, small buildings constitute its charm : shepherds or wine-grwers huts, dovecotes, or simply the drystone walls which criss-cross the landscape, disappearing over the wide, gently undulating horizons of the Causses.
Grandiose, it is a showcase for builders talents, with all their mastery of the laws of balance and harmony. It takes the form of castles, of medieval cities such as St Cirq Lapopie perches high on a rockly promontory, or of towns such as Cahors, Figeac, or Souillac, cradled in a meander of the Lot, the Célé, or the Dordogne, or perched on top of a hill like Gourdon.Surrounded by these visible reminders of the past, towns and villages have their being in the present, successfully combining tradition and modernity, ranging from the rarified atmosphere of museums to all the varied activities that mark the changing seasons.
If the subterranean world and old buildings have no appeal for you, then you can take your time to wander through the countryside or take a leisurely trip down the river Lot, as it winds its way past the vineyards of Cahors, famous for the last two thousand years, you can fish or bathe or even do nothing at all, just listen to the silence.Go on, spoil ourself, and come to explore and savour this land.
